hi Updating - (and solving...:) sympy 0.7.3 (git cloned) installed with gmpy-1.17 (compiled with MPIR 2.6.0) conbination woks fine in ipython notebook and qtconsole 2.0.0-dev.
The problem seems related to gmpy2-2.0.1 (compiled with GMP, MPF,etc.) and the notebook machinery (zmq?). Remember, everything works with python and ipython terminal...
