Do we want to apply to do Google Code-In this year? The program runs from November 18 to January 6. The application period will be from October 9 to October 28.
For those of you who don't know, Google Code-In is a contest for mid-high school aged students to contribute to open source. The organizations that participate create tasks that are doable by such students, and mentor them through them. Unlike GSoC, it is a contest, so the students who do the best work will win. We participated two years ago, and it was a lot of work, which is why I'm asking again this year. If I don't get enough people who are willing to help out, then I won't apply. Note that they've changed the rules quite a bit from when we participated. See http://www.google-melange.com/gci/homepage/google/gci2013 and https://code.google.com/p/google-code-in/wiki/GCIMentorInfo2013 for more information.
