There is no issue for my ongoing work.
I'm not sure about runtests and the way it's handling globals.
Probably everything is fine (else it wouldn't work as well as it does),
but some aspects just don't look right - I dunno.
It's a stone I'm going to leave unturned, but maybe somebody else wants
to look under it.
(Or maybe the reaction is "nah, standard test frameworks are now good
enough and we're going to use that anyway".)
