Hi lovely SymPy people,

(and pardon the repetition -- I mentioned this on IRC a day ago or so, but
didn't hear back, so thought I'd take it to the list,)

SymPy seems to me to be a great project for new contributors to open
source. I'm a volunteer with OpenHatch, and I notice you folks are listed
at http://openhatch.org/search/?q=&project=SymPy ! At our in-person events,
we've sent people your way and gotten great results!

I'm helping organize another "Open Source Comes to Campus" event, as part
of OpenHatch, at Princeton this weekend <http://princeton.openhatch.org/>.
These events have two halves -- first, lectures and exercises to explain
what open source is and how it works; and second, "projects time," where
students try their hand at contributing to existing open source projects.

That's where you come in, if you like! I was wondering if SymPy people were
interested in helping greet prospective new contributors and review
submissions from them.

To do that, here's what we'd need from you:

* A commitment to be available for chat on e.g. IRC this Sunday, Nov 24,
from 1pm to 5pm US/Eastern time

* Two or three bugs that someone who is approximately a sophomore in
computer science could do in 2-4 hours

* Development environment setup documentation that has been tested recently

What do you think?

Also, if this sounds like fun, but the timing isn't great, do let me know
and we can keep you on-call for future events!

-- Asheesh.

P.S. CC:ing [email protected] just to let others know I was reaching out
to you all. Feel free to drop them from the CC: on follow-up.
