I don't think anything has been done in the quantum module in the past few years. Unfortunately, Brain Granger, the person who mentored the previous projects, is no longer able to spend time on SymPy quantum. I would start by taking a look at the existing open pull requests for the quantum module, and also https://github.com/sympy/sympy/pull/573.
