Hello everyone, My name is Jordan, and I stumbled across SymPy after looking for an open source computer algebra system to learn from. It was perfect, and it even had a simple calculus module that I could grasp! I did a little more snooping, and I came across the GSoC page, and it all lined up very well. I would be interested in implementing a module to be the beginnings of Group Theory in SymPy. I have an introductory background in abstract algebra and group theory, but should I pick up any extra knowledge or check any other resources to give myself a better handle on this task? I also thought the idea for a step by step evaluation system similar to WolframAlpha would be very engaging! Any information provided in regards to either would be greatly appreciated.
