Students, you can now submit your applications for GSoC on Google's website (https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/). The application period ends on March 25 (I couldn't find a time of day, if anyone knows the exact deadline, please let us know). Google has historically been very strict about the deadline, not extending it for anyone for any reason, even if there are issues with their server. So submit your applications early.
They process is a little different this year, so I'm not completely sure how it works. You should be able to submit your proposals now and edit them up until the deadline. Also, SymPy has a patch requirement (you need to have at least one pull request merged into SymPy). The March 25 deadline is also the deadline for submitting this patch. If you have submitted your patch but it hasn't been reviewed, please ping me or one of the other mentors so that we can review it. See https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2016-Student-Instructions for the full GSoC student instructions for SymPy.
