Hi Allan, Some issues are labelled as "Easy to fix" which are supposed to be ones that are suitable for a beginner: https://github.com/sympy/sympy/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22Easy+to+Fix%22 Otherwise it's hard to say what you should learn because SymPy is a very broad library with many different modules so it really depends what sort of thing you are interested in.
