I'm planning to start work on the floating point optimization feature for
Sympy described here:

I'd like to know if the feature is still considered relevant for the
project, and have  more precision about what would be considered a
satisfying implementation. And also, if someone have some info (docs, links
to articles, etc) that can be relevant I'd like to get them.
