Dear SymPy Community, I released a new version of opty which has many new features and performance enhancements (see the release notes <https://github.com/csu-hmc/opty/releases/tag/v1.5.0>). opty solves optimal control problems (trajectory optimization and parameter identification). It relies heavily on SymPy and its code generation ability. The documentation <https://opty.readthedocs.io> has considerably more examples, totaling 30, that show all new and old features. We are using it heavily in my lab and several publications <https://opty.readthedocs.io/stable/resources.html> are now emerging that show its utility in research. I presented the software at the International Society of Biomechanics Technical Group in Computer Simulation meeting in Uppsala Sweden this summer to show how to use it for predictive simulations of musculoskeletal systems. The CZI grant we were awarded significantly supported all these advances.
I recommend installing with conda: conda install --channel conda-forge opty or updating: conda update --channel conda-forge opty Enjoy!
