My name is Muhammad Shifas, and I am a first-year undergraduate student exploring open-source development. Python was my first programming language and the gateway that introduced me to coding and mathematical problem-solving. While learning and working with symbolic mathematics, I used a LaTeX expression tool for typesetting algebraic expressions with automatic substitution and result computation, and later discovered that it is built using SymPy. This led me to explore SymPy further and appreciate how clearly symbolic mathematics can be expressed through Python. I’m interested in contributing to SymPy as a learning opportunity and would like to gradually grow as a contributor by understanding the codebase and community practices.
