Hello SymPy Community,

My name is Fares Shaaban], and I am an aspiring contributor interested in 
participating in Google Summer of Code 2026 with SymPy.

I have been exploring the project ideas list and setting up my development 
environment (Linux/VS Code). While I have a solid foundation in* Python and 
Object-Oriented Programming*, I realized that many of the physics-heavy 
projects require advanced domain knowledge that I am still acquiring.

Therefore, I am very interested in working on the *Code Generation 
(Codegen)* module. I believe this fits my skill set better as it focuses on 
software design patterns, recursion, and logic rather than complex physical 
equations.

*My current plan to prepare for the application period: *

   - I am currently trying to understand the *Sympy development workflow*,
   -  Setting the development environment like installing sympy codebase,
   -  exploring the library and be at least not be scared from working with 
   a large codebase like this
   - Learning how to use git/github as explained in the Sympy doucmentation

*I would appreciate any guidance on the following:*

   - 
   
   Is the Code Generation project likely to be a priority for GSoC 2026?
   - 
   
   Are there specific "modernization" tasks or new language supports (like 
   Rust or Julia) that mentors are particularly interested in this year?
