Thanks for the reply. I used localname and resolvename and it returned 127.0.0.1. This is not the server's ip address. The localname came out OK. I'm currently connecting to clients with another ip address. Also, I have ony 1 network card on my laptop. I'm using TUDPBlockSocket to get the address right after I do TUDPBlockSocket.create. Should I be using TTCPBlockSocket? Also, it takes a while to get the local name. Is this correct? Pat
