Personally, lowest Delphi version I use with Synapse is D4, and only on
a handfull of legacy applications that rely on such components that are
"impossible" (too time consuming to be justified) to get to work on
later Delphi versions. However, only the most basic Synapse
functionality is usually needed on such projects (and often, it is
required that an older version of Synapse is used for one reason or
another).

Most often I use Synapse with D7 and (lately) D2006.
