I'm doing a very vanilla http get request for url

http://www.etfconnect.com/tools/DailyPricing.aspx

It takes 17 minutes on a 56K dialup windows xp system
and also seems to burn a lot of cpu time

It's a big file, but only takes a few seconds to load
with a browser.

Is there something I can tweak like buffer size to make
it faster?

Small html files are retrieved almost instantly, no problem.
It is not just this one file. It is a problem on any large
html file.
