Best is NOT use TCP keepalives. Why?

Not all operating systems supporting this feature. (for example, on 
Windows first usable version is W2000...) And if operating system not 
have feature for detailed per connection keepalive settings, then 
default if usually around two hours. Too much for practical usage!

Synapse is designed for detection of broken connections by 
application protocol logic. Each read operation have tinmeout value. 
It is maximum time for waiting to reply. Reasonable high timeout 
value is best detection for all possible problems. Not just network 
wire problems, but it can detect and solve stucks of remote party 
software, etc.
