This is not actually D2009 related, but if and when you want to start 
working with Unicode, you should familiarise yourself with it. There are 
many misunderstandings of the basics and false examples on the net, and 
following those can cause quite a lot more confusion than they are worth.

A good book for learning the basics required to be able to work with 
Unicode is Jukka Korpela's "Unicode Explained", a O'Reilly book. I 
warmly it for anyone who needs to work with multiple languages and/or 
character sets (including, but not exactly limited to Unicode) to take a 
look at it http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596101213/index.html

The book is a bit pricey, but like most O'Reilly books, it is quite 
comprehensive (what can you expect from a book that has over 600 pages:)
