Hi Sanjiva / Glen

The folks at ej-technologies have confirmed that the license would be valid for all active committers of Synapse. It is required that the key is only used for Synapse, and that it is not made public in a mailing list or source repo etc.

So I would be going ahead and including a link back to them from our site.

thanks

+1 .. it seems to me that if we're giving them thanks from ASF it must
be for the whole project (committers is fine like IntelliJ) and not for
an individual.

Are you saying they'll give us one copy of the software, or a team
license?

If the latter, a big +1! If the former, I'd recommend talking to a
couple of the other profiler vendors first (in fact I just took the
liberty of zapping a query over to Borland). I think it would be much
better to have a relationship like we have with IntelliJ (free copies
for the team) for profiling if at all possible.

Subject: Acceptance of a donation of an Open Source license for JProfiler

I have been in touch with the ej-technologies team to secure a license for their Java profiler (JProfiler) for Synapse, as we move close to our 1.0 release. They are willing to give me a copy in exchange for a link back to them (http://www.ej-technologies.com/products/jprofiler/overview.ht ml) from our web site. If no one objects to this, I would like to proceed.

thanks
asankha
