Asankha, Your are right, it was a problem in the synapse.bat file. The problem was a space in the directory path. The strange thing is that when starting Synapse with "synapse.bat" no problem occurred. But when I use "synapse.bat -sample 50" or another sample number the error message as entered in JIRA was shown. So there seems to be a difference between starting Synapse with or without the -sample option in synapse.bat. I will close the JIRA issue.
