We tried this quite sometime back.. and it boiled down to being schema
validatable vs being user friendly to write what you want.. and we
decided on the latter.. the issue is mostly related to attributes, where
we have a selection.. e.g. <filter (source="xpath" regex="string") |
xpath="xpath">

The synapse configuration language documentation file is good and the
sample
configuration files get you going, but I can see how a published,
versioned
schema/dtd for the configuration file in each major release would help
users. Maybe something like how log4j includes a dtd for their its
configuration file?
