Follow-up Comment #2, bug #14338 (project synaptic):
Thanks for your bugreport.
The current svn contains a version of synaptic that can generate a download
script based on the current selelections. The user can then download them on
a different host to e.g. a usb-stick, zip, cdrw.
After that the downloaded debs can be imported into the synaptic cache
again.
The only disadvantage it has is that it requires to do the "reload" on the
local (slowly connected) machine.
Testing/Feedback is welcome :)
