Hello again, I've added a new "Goals" section to the (now migrated) Sync v1 page, and I've written these as:
== Goals == The goals of this MVP release of the new Sync service are to: * Replace the existing Sync service with a much more reliable & scalable system that closely (but not precisely) matches the old Sync functionality * Introduce and integrate with the new "Firefox Account" service * Significantly improve the Sync UX so more people will set up and use the service * Migrate existing Sync users to this new service as seamlessly as possible (it may not end up being terribly seamless, but we should do what we can) The success conditions for these seem relatively clear, but we will eventually want to define more precise metrics where it makes sense: How much more reliable/scalable? How many more users over what period of time? When do we want to have 90% of existing users migrated over, etc. But we can do that a bit later, I think. Anyhow, do these goals seem about right to everyone? Wordsmithing & additions absolutely encouraged. Reply here and we can sort it out. For reference, the Sync v1 page now lives here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/User_Services/Sync/v1 Thanks! ~ deb _______________________________________________ Sync-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/sync-dev
