I have made a further small change to setup.py that should stop it
failing. It probably still needs updating to match the changes in
sync-engine. I am not familiar with the vagaries of setuptools (don't
have it installed here) so I am hoping someone with better knowledge of
setuptools than I will update it - otherwise I will have to do some
reading.
