I will fix this. This issue came up again: test-dbus.py on "master" is working, the one used in the nightly testing is not. To answer the question: /home/nightly/syncevolution-testing/syncevolution is used to boot-strap testing when no /work/runtests exists. As many of the actual tests scripts then should come from the checked-out sources in /work/runtests, in particular test-dbus.py.
