(You can check this with "dpkg -s syncevolution" in the terminal) The source configuration changed a lot between 0.9 and 1.0 of syncevolution, and again a little between 1.0 and 1.1. I'm guessing you're using the syncevolution-frontend 0.12. It tries to be backward-compatible, but perhaps it isn't completely.
