Patrick, Yes, they are very useful, and your effort to keep those of us who are "lurking" informed is appreciated! It provides a sense that things are happening, and that the software is evolving. There are so many open source projects out there where it is hard for an outsider to gain any insight into whether the project is healthy. I for one value the quality of communication on this project. I'm sure it will help the software, by attracting folk to help out.
