Yes, you're right. opensync isn't able to establish a session to this S40 r3 phone with syncml version 1.2. If I am reading http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8021 correctly, it looks like there is quite a bit of fundamental work to be done before syncevolution will support Nokia phones before S40 r5.
