Thanks a lot Tino, I think you've identified the cause of my issue. I just tried installing SyncEvolution 1.0.99.7 from the unstable deb repo. I still have the problem. I looked at the dates, and the patch was committed 8 Sept and 1.0.99.7 released 1 Oct. Do I need to build from source to get a version that's new enough to release the fix you linked to?
