Yes, if you set up a reverse proxy to provide HTTPS access, which
forwards to the HTTP port of the Syncevolution server.  This is quickly
done using Apache2.  Otherwise all your sync traffic will be
unencrypted

I use it to sync contact and calendar data with my desktop computer,
laptop and Nokia E55.
