This is treated as a special case by the Synthesis engine's merge rules: because many phones truncate such fields and thus unintentionally remove data on the server when merging back changes from them, the engine checks whether the beginning of the description is the same on client and server and if so, keeps the longer version of the description. If you don't want this behavior, then you can remove merge="lines" from the DESCRIPTION entry in 10calendar-fieldlist.xml. If you put that modified file into ~/.config/syncevolution-xml/datatypes, it'll survive updates of the system's config files. I'd rather not change the config that comes with SyncEvolution because I expect that the current behavior is useful for more users - how often is a description really shortened? -- Best Regards, Patrick Ohly The content of this message is my personal opinion only and although I am an employee of Intel, the statements I make here in no way represent Intel's position on the issue, nor am I authorized to speak on behalf of Intel on this matter. _______________________________________________ SyncEvolution mailing list [email protected] http://lists.syncevolution.org/listinfo/syncevolution
