So the goal is to make it work with GPE?
Last time I checked, if the goal is GPE, then using the GPE libraries is
the way to go. Since the GPE libraries (such as libgpevtype) can do all
the ical conversions for you, it would be comparable to the Maemo
backend - i.e., fairly straightforward.
A comparable sqlite backend would be a big and complex job. A sqlite
backend might be useful in some cases, but if the goal is GPE, it's
probably not worth it. Better to just use the GPE libraries.
