I checked the calendar conversion code, it should support such meetings at least when sticking to iCalendar 2.0. Perhaps something goes wrong when converting to or from vCalendar. Can you run your sync with loglevel=4 and then extract from the syncevolution-log.html files the relevant data dumps of an affected event?
