I wouldn't mind having some kde packages on my system - I probably already have - provided they don't get updated too often.
If it allows KDE users to get the full benefit of Syncevolution, that's fine. Maybe KDE users have the same problem the other way around (pulling Gnome dependencies)? I'm afraid I can't help much about package building, but maybe a separate syncevolution-kde would be a solution? (there are several examples of packages, e.g. backintime, which have -gnome and -kde versions).
