Oggetto: Version Numbering Scheme

Hi all,
upon Emmanuel suggestion, I am starting here this thread about Syncope
version numbering scheme.

A quick google showed me an ASF reference for this topic [1].

Personally, I think that having Major.Minor.Micro scheme could be a wise
thing (so far we have been using Major.Minor with Micro == 0 and
Major.Minor.Micro with Micro > 0- take [2] as reference).

I think that [1] could be good also for the milestone / release
candidate (that we used sometimes in the past [2]) approach.

WDYT?
