Summary: no indication of the state of toggle-able menu entries

Initial Comment:
On the 'view' menu, I can toggle various things on and off, like grid display,
grid snap, onion skin, etc., but there's no visual indication of whether the
toggle is currently on or off.

It would be useful to see, especially for the 'low-res' toggle, some
indication, such as a check mark next to the menu entry when the toggle is on.

best to use standard check box menu items, and to change items to use
labels like "Show Grid" rather than "Toggle Grid"

[best to avoid trying any changing of the labels to show state because
that unpredictable. no particular benefit and would break screen readers in
the worst case. always use standard widgets unless you have a very very
good reason to do otherwise.]
