Hi there,
As you probably already know, there is a bones branch where the bones features
are being developed. The bones branch is not complete and needs lots of
additions to be fully usable in production. It is forecasted that the needed
modfications will affect the code in many areas like the interface, renderers,
tools and so.

Since there are other features being developed with another release speed,
there
is the need to merge the master branch into the bones branch frequently to keep
the bones branch up to date on new features and bug fixing.

This situation is a little bit unconfortable for the current developers,
specially when they are not directly working on the bones branch on that
moment.
Or if the developer is working on the bones branch, it has to frequently merge
master into it to do not create many long term conflicts in code.
So this is a proposal to avoid development obstacles mentioned before:

>From the point of the user, current bones features are accesible via Skeleton
Layer and Convert to Bone Influence. Both can be hidden to the user just by a
environment variable flag so the user never could use the unfinished bones
feature if the binary is not compiled for that. Merging the bones branch to
master adding the needed environment variables in the right places would allow
to work on a single branch when working on bones and when working on anything
else.

Bones can be provided to non devel users by a development snapshot binaries so
they can be tested and used by who is interested.

What do you think?
Cheers
Carlos
