Sorry, after play with this branch of Synfig Studio, I found:
for the type_canvas, It seems out of the flat and symbolic style of
parameter types, and the icon you used is for imported image layer, I don't
think it make sense for a canvas.
for the library_icon, same issue. And there are too many details of
imported image icon when scaled down to the size of panel icon, it is
blurred.
I am going to try my best to come back her with other proposals here
tomorrow.
