It seems cover every thing already, the only thing I would like to add is,
we need take this opportunity to cleanup the menus and remove the tools in
top part of toolbox. I strongly advice to adopt the MyPaint-like menu:
[Synfig] [File] [Edit] [Canvas] [...]
The Setup (Preference) menu can be submenu of [Synfig] menu. And further,
user can turn off menubar to save workspace, when menubar is turned off,
the [File] [Edit] [Canvas] etc. menu items will be submenu of [Synfig]
menu. [Synfig] menu will be a standard button of standard toolbar. The
benefit is that a experienced user can have more space for artwork
creation, and it is also consisted with current CARET menu system somehow.
Please take a look at the mockup created very early[1] and the
screen(space) usage issue[2]
