Hello
I need some help from somebody that has an evaporator. I have one that is
made of copper the problem is that on the bottom of the frame where the pan
meets the frame the strips that holdes the pan to the wooden frame was
broken and missing. I need to know what kind of wood to use and how to seal
the pan to the frame before it was just nailed to it. What kept it from
leaking. The pan is about 4ft by 6ft. It was made in the late 40s or early
50s. Do I need to make a new frame or use the old one. I live in Ozark, Al
I own a farm I want to plant about 3 ac of cane next year for syrup and
chewing. Any help will be very helpful.

> Welcome to the syrupmakers email list. This list is a very informal way
of sharing information among folks who are interested in growing and
processing sorghum or sugar cane for making syrup. We aren't the most
talkative bunch, but usually questions are replied to within a day. Please
feel free to jump in and introduce yourself when you feel cdomfortable.
