The difference between ELOM and ILOM is functionality.   The ILOM has
more enterprise features, including support for RADIUS, LDAP, NIS, and
even Kerberos.  Most importantly, ILOM allows you to set both the server
side console speed as wells the SP side console speed... this is
extremely important because Solaris defaults to a 9600 baud rate,
whereas the ELOM is hardcoded to 57,600 on the server side, which means
that you have to tweek the Solaris baud rate settings to actually use
the console.

There are other annoyences in the SMASH CLP (the directory structured
interface), such as /SP/AgentInfo/Console on ELOM versus the more gentle
/SP/Console on ILOM.

In general, ILOM is simply the best SP available, where as ELOM is its
retarded cousin.

Mind you, both are superior to other vendor options such as Dell's DRAC.
