I consider implementing cpu accounting on solaris sparc/x86 servers in our company. I have discovered that there are 2 options the bsd accounting and the extended accounting. As I would like to count the long running processes I have no option but the extended account. The issue is that I can use wracct syscall to interval tasks (zero counter), but the last record is a summary for the whole task runtime which made someone who wants to be accurate remember all of the tasks to subtract the last runtime for the tasks. I thought about omitting the last records but it makes the accounting very inaccurate and running the wracct syscall is very space demanding. Is there an idea how to solve this?
Thanks very much in advance for your advice or recommendation Poz. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ sysadmin-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/sysadmin-discuss
