I did resolve this issue by trying different scenarios. 

I determined that the sub-net for the client needed to be the same as
the sub-net for the server in the client template.  I knew the server
and client needed to be on the same sub-net but I thought in the
template I could put the actual IP of the client.

Have you changed the IP on your server?  Did you check
/opt/SUNWjet/etc/server_interfaces?  Is your server's network in
there?  Is your server's IP defined in /etc/hosts and the MAC in
/etc/ethers?
