Hi, if it's only a matter of the time necessary to create the flash archive try again with the option -S; from the man page for flar:
*-**S* Skip the disk space check and do not write archive size data to the archive. Without -*S*, *flar* builds a compressed archive in memory before writing the archive to disk, to ensure you have sufficient disk space. Use -*S* to skip this step.
