drvconfig/disks/tapes/ports are just hard links to devfsadm now, and have been since at least the first Solaris 10 release.
I'm fairly sure that this change happened with Solaris 7 in fact (I thought it was 8, but turns out our 7 machines have devfsadm and drvconfig as the same executable but the 2.6 ones only have drvconfig).
So this is going to be one of those things like forcing speed & duplex which people still do, when they were not actually born when it mattered (in my case, I still type "sync;sync;sync" at various critical junctures, when I'm fairy sure this has not mattered on any Unix system I've used).
