(Copy of post in storage.discuss) ... Hi everyone.
I have a WD My Passport 500Gb USB hard drive. I'm running OpenSolaris 2009.06 After plugging it in, rmvolmgr mounted it under /media/My Passport .. nice! I then unmounted it, removed the Windows parition, creates a Solaris partition, gave it a label of "Dynamics" and formatted it as UFS. Now, when I plug it in, it gets auto-mounted under /media/5000BEV External Clearly I managed to change the mountpoint somehow, although I was hoping it would be mounted under /media/Dynamics. Can anyone tell me what I need to set in order to control the auto-mount point? Output of rmformat: Looking for devices... 1. Logical Node: /dev/rdsk/c11t0d0p0 Physical Node: /p...@0,0/pci15d9,8...@1d,7/stor...@2/d...@0,0 Connected Device: WD 5000BEV External 1.75 Device Type: Removable Bus: USB Size: 476.9 GB Label: Dynamics Access permissions: Medium is not write protected. Output of ls /media: 5000BEV External/ Any ideas how I can get rmvolmgr to auto-mount this under /media/something_else instead? Clearly it's possible, as it changed from "My Passport" to "5000BEV External" after formatting/repartitioning. I am going to buy another (identical) drive and I want it so that whenever I plug in drive 1 it mounts it under /media/Dynamics, and whenever I plug in drive 2 it mounts it under /media/Exchange. Many thanks, James. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ sysadmin-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/sysadmin-discuss
