Hi List,
I had some really not nice experience some month ago with OpenSolaris
2009.06. Some Zones were inaccessible (zlogin + ssh), the SMB Server
stopped working the way it was supposed to (I was able to kill the SMB
Server when I tried to mount a share from a Win XP Home running in
VirtualBox...!). I dont't know, but I think this is not acceptable for
production stuff, and since that time I'm really careful with new
releases. At the moment I'm using 2008.11 (svn_111b) with a DELL
PowerEdge 2900 and it works without problems. There are some error
messages in /var/adm/messages that occur during boot and some things
related to the SMB Server but those don't affect the stability of the
system.
After I did the upgrade to 2009.06 and found out, that it didn't worked,
I switched back to the old boot environment. Now, half a year later, I
faced the situation, that there's some kind of problem, that prevents me
from creating new zones....
I hope you can give me some feedback about stable releases and your
experience with the mentioned stuff.
