Looks like there's also a heated discussion of this topic going on recently here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=465742 So I tried setting this in /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas: <schema> <key>xdmcp/Enable</key> <signature>b</signature> <default>true</default> </schema> But still no luck, still getting a black, blank screen. But at least GDM is not crashing any more.
