Easy, just parse the datestamp from the end to the beginning. This allows
for an infinite number of years. Additionally, it might be a good idea to
add a tag describing the calendar system used for encoding the date
(1=Julian, 2=Gregorian, ...). But this is optional, since we have
a (for now) reasonable default here, so we need the tag only during the
transition to another system.
