As said, NO S-R is to complex to implement _*_ for us _*_ ( my custumor the _user_) ! Our implemenation is based on BSD's syslogd, with a few hundred line of C-code extended. The custumor can manage that .. But for working on S-R: no, not an option. Tryed it. But no, no go, no budget ... (personally, .... But that's another storry. ..) (Yes, You can say that is a kind of not here ... But not one I can influance) > ...and rather than build syslog-reliable, which has been put through a > process of international peer review, by intelligent people, you've gone > away and designed your own protocol. Wel kind of. Choosen to use an option. And yes, build it, reviewed it internally. But also (trying) to ask for your help! To review it, to make use of this WG to fill the gap "we found, we think" So I hope you will help. But as nobody is willing to comment on this protocol, even without willing to read it, I think it's better no to send our "Req for comment" to this group. Maybe some other time, some other place ..
