No Jeff, you can run system 6 on a classic very well. It even has that
system on rom chip.
Anyway, how to solve this problem?
Well... Do you have installer disks from either system 6.07 or system 6.08?
If so, open the system folder, trash system and finder, than trash the
system folder itself (after dragging out any important documents that
landed in the system folder, favourtie fonts, favorite control panels and
extension or maybe some important preference file. Than restart the
classic. A disk with question mark will appear on screen. Insert either
system 6.07 or system 6.08 installer disk (system startup) and begin the
install process.
If you need truetype extension, install that too afterwards.
